Hi:

My wife and I just moved to Peabody from the midwest. We were excited about being surrounded by the water here. But after some searching, we couldn't find many nice jogging or cycling routes near where we live. The roads here are generally narrow and make them difficult to share with drivers. We would love to hear your advices of where you jog or bike. If you know some interesting routes to share, we would appreciate that.

Jason

Helo, have you tried Breakheart Reservtion in Saugus? This is just off Route 1 South (exit at Lynn Fells Parkway and take 1st right after Target. Nice area with trails for walking/jogging (hills, though) and a lake in the middle.

The other idea if you are not on the Route 1 side of Peabody, would be to cut through Lynn to the beach and jog/walk along the beach.

How did I forget....have you tried Lynn Woods which is on the Saugus side of Lynn/Peabody. Again, nice walking/jogging/mountain biking trails.

If your looking to road bike then I would suggest Boxford, Lynnfield, Middleton, Hamilton, Wenham, Ipswich and some of the other towns on the North Shore. If you go to Barnes and Noble or any area bike shop they should have some books and guides that will give you some good routes..

Thanks a lot for the input! We will definitely check out the Breakheart reservation and lynn Woods.

"cut through lynn to the beach" did you mean the Revere beach? I am also wondering if the Singing beach is good for jogging.
