I am looking at a position in Westwood and need some help on where to live since I know nothing about the area. I am looking for something within a 1/2 hour commute on some acreage (2+) and for around $500,000 we are not into historic homes something newer around 2500 sq'. Any help would be appreciated

Delhi and Green Townships would be your best bet, with Colerain Twp not far behind. All are formerly rural areas that've gotten majorly "built out" since WWII, with the pace only accelerating as west-siders fleeing aging/deteriorating neighborhoods and/or nervous about incoming "diversity" scurry toward Indiana. You could even look as far out as Harrison and be within 30 minutes of Westwood, thanks to I-74 and its exits serving North Bend Rd and Montana Ave. There shouldn't be any problem with your finding acreage and house space that meet your specs, just be mindful of the airport flight path. Family friends thought they'd found their "dream home" in Green Twp, only to realize after the fact that dozens of planes scream in for a landing over their street. Now they can't give the place away and sleep in the basement.

Et tu?
I'm a Cincinnatian by birth and upbringing, was 20 when I migrated East, and still have close family ties there. I have friends old and new in the area (thanks to C-D for the latter, lol), read the local paper online almost every day, and make return trips throughout the year - most recently three weeks ago.
Do I get detention for having divided loyalties? LOL

The counties goyguy mentioned don't seem to be the counties around Westwood, MA.

Medway may be a good bet. I know a few very nice newer homes there of the size you're looking for.

They're sure not in Massachusetts, certainly not around Westwood.
