Default Areas in Wayland

Hi, me again. Another place we've considered moving is Wayland. I know that the northern part of Wayland (Claypit Hill) is considered a little "ritzier", but are any of the other areas bad? We've seen some places in our price range in the Happy Hollow district, but we were wondering if it was still considered a good area to live in. TIA

I grew up in Wayland. North Wayland does have a reputation as being slightly more upscale-- although many more houses have been built there over the last 20 years or so, it is more rural and I think prettier than South Wayland. However, there are no bad areas in Wayland. It is all extremely safe. Also, there is only one junior high and high school so after elementary school it all blends together anyway. And I believe Happy Hollow is just as good an elementary school as Claypit Hill. Wayland is so small that the part of town you come from is not too significant. Good luck!

Thanks for the response. It helps to hear firsthand from someone who has lived there.

I agree, although the Lake Cochituate area seems a little run down compared with the rest of the town. Wayland is an excellent town though.

South Wayland is much cheaper than North Wayland. Now Wayland is building a big town center kinda like a downtown. It's a great place to live.
