Default Whitman, MA

My husband and I are considering buying a house in Whitman, MA. Currently, we live on the North Shore. My husband's job is located near South Station so his current commute is somewhat of a hassle. Living in Whitman would make it a nicer commute. We've done some research and so far like what we know of Whitman. I'm looking for additional feedback from people who know the area--pro's and con's. One of our concerns is the proximity to Brockton--is my concern legitimate? Thanks.

I would be more concerned about the heroin addicts with b&e habits than criminals coming from Brockton. Unfortunately, this crime outbreak is not specific to Whitman, read Patriotledger.com and you will see heroin is all over the south shore at this time.

The major con about living in Whitman would be the location, there is no immediate access to any highways.
