Default Where to go....Cape Cod - Halloween weekend

Can anyone recommend their favorite town to visit on Cape Cod. And why. Looking to visit there this Haloween weekend.

We have only been to Chatham. It was very nice, but not sure we want to drive that far out.

Any thoughts as to where to say also. No, bed and breakfasts though. My wife doesn't want to stay in one.

Thank you for any suggestions.

It depends on what you are looking to do. My two suggestions if you do not want to go down Cape:

Falmouth is nice as there are some good waterfront spots and the downtown is nice to poke around. I love Woods Hole area for the sight seeing too. Quite a few motel/hotels in the area.

Sandwich is great. Quaint downtown area, lots to see and do. Daniel Webster Inn is nice and there are number of other small motels on 6a. Hemisphere is still open and it's a great spot to sit back, watch a game or watch the comings and goings in the canal.

Thanks Beachcomber. I went to the website of Daniel Webster Inn online. It looks real nice. Looked at the local surrounding areas on bing.com maps (birds eye view). That is definitely an option we will keep in mind.

I am almost ashamed to say that I have only been to Cape Cod once for sightseeing. And I live in RI.

Thanks.

I'll concur with someone else question: what are you looking for? Provincetown is pretty quiet this time of year, but always beautiful.

Quaint villages. Window shopping. General sightseeing. Harbors. Driving along the water and seeing the old houses.

Heck, that is probably most towns on the Cape. I'm sure where ever we go, it will be beautiful.

Thanks.
Hey, we LOVE Newport RI. Why would you leave with such a fun spot? It has it's own fun vibe and is both kid and adult friendly.

I think Sandwich would be a perfect getaway. (I am partial though- Chatham is a close 2nd in my book)

Also check out the Belfry Inn. It's gorgeous and they were recently running some great deals. Their restaurant is very highly regarded- I am remiss in the fact that I have never dined there.

Other suggestions to pass the time:

Sandwich Glass Museum
Heritage Plantation
Visit the glass blower on 6a (not Pairpoint but the one heading toward Barnstable)
Green Briar Nature and Jam Kitchen
The Boardwalk with a coffee from Paul's Bean and Bagel. You will see lots of artwork around town featuring the favorite pasttime of jumping off the bridge at high tide.
Scorton Creek (the bridge on 6A is another favorite spot for bridge jumping)
Cafe Chew (in Stop and Shop Plaza) for a fabulous breakfast.
Shawme Pond and the Grist Mill for a leisurely stroll (bring your water bottles and fill them up at the town spring)

Check out Cellar 55 for some great wine samples and then grab a bottle and head down 6A to Sandy Neck (on the way stop off at Gourmet Gallery to see Jackie and Kevin and grab some great cheeses, scones and the to die for lemon squares from Sand Castle)
Picnic on Sandy Neck in the dunes
Take lots of lefts off 6A and enjoy the beautiful vistas (private road means nothing this time of year)
British Beer Company or Amari for some live music.

Poke around downtown. Cute second hand shops (Joanne in Design by Consign is a love!), art galleries, gift shops and craft galleries.

Enjoy!
