Default Questions about Norwood and surrounding communities

My husband is going to be doing some contract work for 6 mos to a year in Norwood. The rest of our family will not be moving. Can anyone advise me on less expensive communities near Norwood? We'd prefer a community where he can rent a one bedroom apartment. He'll be working a lot so he's not interested in aesthetics.

You could look into Dedham or Rolindale which are near norwood.

I would look in Norwood itself. Norwood has a fair number of apartment complexes and is further away from Boston than Dedham or Roslindale and so might even be less expensive than those two.

If it helps, when I was in Norwood a few weeks ago I noticed a lot of "For Rent" signs, so many compared to nearby towns I frequent (I live a few towns over) that they stood out. Whether that's good or bad, I have no idea.

Would suggest Wrentham, Plainville, or Franklin - all nice towns and certainly within driving distance to Norwood. Norwood itself, as one poster indicated, seems to have a lot of rentals.
