Default Waltham or Wellesly?

Can anyone give me info about either of these 2 towns? I have been looking online and they look like nice towns, close to Boston and houses within our price range. How are the schools? How would a 15 year old going into high school fare in either of these towns?...he is very outgoing ,
is into sports and is really into drama/theatre arts. Thanks for any info or suggestions!

Wellesley is a very affluent town and Waltham is considered a working class city. Waltham has some nice areas, but I would much rather live in Wellesley.

The median house price in Wellesley is just under $1million. The median house in Waltham is less than half of Wellesley.

95% of Wellesley's kids go to 4 year college. I think only 60% of Waltham kids go 4 year college.

Default Wellesley & Waltham

The Boston Globe's community website can be a good place to get some initial information about various towns. You can even use a comparison tool to check out two towns side by side.

Seriously there is no comparing the two places. They are totally for different classes of families. Waltham is definitely middle class, lower middle class, and working poor. Wellesley on the other hand is much nicer more established white colloar professional families. I would definitely chooose Wellesley over Waltham. I'm only familiar with a few parts of Waltham and it is really not very nice and overall i've never heard anything extremely negative, but you're dealing with two different types of people when comparing the two.

Not at all. It's very hard to choose a new home when you're relocating from far away. Believe me, I remember going through that! Please feel free to ask away! :-)
