It's interesting that some "economically depressed" cities are included here, such as Brockton and Lynn English, and they should be commended. They went head to head with both charter schools and more wealthy communities.

This companion article highlights Massachusetts in particular.

The First-Class State - US News and World Report

I do take issue with most schools being compared to Charter schools, though. I thought this article was interesting:

Regardless, it's nice to see Massachusetts and especially, certain towns, being nationally recognized.
