We're considering buying a house in Wilmington, MA. I'm going to be working in the Seaport District of Boston, and was wondering if anyone had any information relating to the commute from Wilmington to Boston/North Station generally. More specifically, how long does it take? How hard/easy is it to get a parking spot at the North Wilmington T stop? If the MBTA spots fill up at the T stop, are there other places to park nearby? What time does the North Wilmington or North Billerica parking fill up on a weekday?

Thanks in advance!

I couldn't tell you about the parking in Wilmington/N. Billerica, but Anderson Woburn has an enormous parking facility that is never full to my knowledge. It's a few minutes closer to North Station than the Wilmington station (about 27 mins on average from Anderson, about 32 or so from Wilmington except for the one or two direct trains, which are faster)

MBTA Commuter Rail > Lowell Line Schedules and Maps

North Wilmington, being on a different line, takes longer (45 mins or so), so it might be worth it to drive to Anderson, which has a direct exit off 93. It's also accessible through the streets (e.g. Woburn St. from North Wilmington station).

Of course, it will take some time to get from North Station to the Seaport area since there's no direct connection, and you always have to factor in time for walking to and from the trains, parking, etc.. I don't think, all in all, it can be done in under an hour.

I lived in Wilmington for 2.5 years steps from the T station in Wilmington Center. the trip takes around 45 min to an hour to Boston NS. Parking is OK to my knowledge because many people walk to the T stop. Fills up 6-8am, mostly around 6:30-7:30is.

North Wilmington station I am less familiar with, but it likely takes a few ticks longer due to more stops.

Agreed with Holden125, it's going to be over an hour to the waterfront, at least.

Wilmington or Anderson are your best bets, with a slightly shorter commute time, and better parking, but at least you have options!
