They are all pretty much considered "average" towns in the Boston area. Not desirable, not undesirable. I wouldn't really worry about crime in any of them

My personal order with price, location and town feeling- Melrose, Danvers, Saugus, Peabody and Winthrop. I would include Wakefield and Stoneham as well, similar to Melrose and Saugus
