Aloha!
Can anyone tell me what it is like to work at Maui college teaching in the nursing program? I'm a critical care RN with teaching experience and interested in possibly working at the college on Maui. I'm also interested to hear if anyone has any insights about what it is like to work at Maui Memorial Medical Center. I sure would appreciate any information you may have.
Mahalo for your help!

I know some nurses at the hospital. They're underpaid compared to the mainland. Also, because they're state employees they have to pay into a pension, are exempt from the health insurance mandate and have to pay 50% of premiums, and union dues.

I don't know how much of that applies to UHMC workers.

Mahalo for the information! A lot of nurses are underpaid for the work they do. I'll keep researching and maybe others can provide their insights on Maui Memorial and UHMC! I appreciate your help!

Hey, Steve... since you work in real estate and you've dropped the same comment to contact you personally on several different threads now, and also posted what seems like an ad, it sure seems like you're farming the site, and it's probably time for you to go back and read the Terms of Service. You can find a link to it at the top of each forum.

The purpose of having people post their questions in public here, as well as the answers, is to allow many people access to the same information. The only good reason for taking inquiries private is when the info should not be made public, like a personal phone number. If you build a reputation here and post really good answers to public questions and people respond by contacting you personally, no foul. But as a new member with no reputation here, fishing for personal contacts to build your contact list is a different matter entirely.

Probably just fishing for e-mails/phone numbers. There's no Steve Woodard real estate agent part of the Maui Board, or licensed in the State of Hawaii for that matter, although there's 1 mortgage broker by that name who's license has expired.

If that name isn't their real name I'd wonder why they are collecting information using someone else's name, especially since almost everyone uses nicknames/aliases.

You can check Hawaii License status for real estate agents, or anyone with a license under the Department of Commerce & Consumer Affairs via their website: https://pvl.ehawaii.gov/pvlsearch/

Thanks for a demonstration of why care is needed in responding personally to postings here. I see that the poster and his posts are now gone.
