I believe we had a black police Camaro running around, I haven't seen it in a while. There was also a Grey/Black Striped Mustang for a little bit. All our under cover police cars have the license plate MPD to start though. I haven't seen or heard of any without those letters, although they might have changed. Not sure.

LOL...I don't think I want to be blending in that much like a local

I am in a holding pattern right now...a few weeks while the jury convenes.

I've never heard of the ethnicity of the cop determining what model of car they get to drive.

So it's not a sure thing then? You must be quite anxious about the decision...good luck to you and know that in life, whatever is supposed to happen is what will happen.

Thanks Hilo!

Anxious... My spreadsheet is 8tabs deep now so yes I am a little anxious. There are a lot of things I want to plan and begin doing but until I know if I can take my job with me I'm keeping my emotional investment to a minimum. I had a lengthy discussion to advocate for myself with my employer and I can agree with the general, decisions like this should not be rushed. As you said, if it's gonna happen, it'll happen.

I've been reading the maui online news papers to pass the time hahaha...checking out real estate, rentals and CL ads, watching the live beach cams in Kihei, ya know all the typical Maui Dreamer stuff...

If it's any consolation, every day that passes here in MN feels like another day "lost" to what could be a day in paradise for me and my wife. I am pretty happy she is not going against the grain on this... and I know what against the grain is, as I experienced it when I bought the boat lol.

Yah, I remember the routine.

I hope that "whatever is to be will be" is exactly what you want!

Someone should put a web cam in the CostCo parking lot so you can see what the "real" Maui is, at times. Lol. My point is, there is a lot of normal every day living that goes on here. It has been 2-3 weeks since I last was in the ocean or on the beach, although every day we take our dog for a walk along the N shore cliffs, where there has been an incredible number of whales this year. Close in, too. Funny that everyone thinks all the whales are in Maalaea bay. I see way more off the N shore.

Well, it is doubtful that the OP in MN is gonna see any whales so even "everyday" Maui life is probably gonna seem pretty exotic to him. When folks first move over, I'm thinking it's the small stuff that blows them away, stuff that seems normal and ho-hum to us. Hibiscus flowers in December, geckos, no snow, slippers in winter, avocados the size of nerf footballs, fresh papayas all year long, etc.

I like your observations hahaha.

I wouldn't say I was "blown away" by the whales I saw off Makena Bay and Kihei... but my wife was a bit memorized by them. It was fun to watch all the tourists with their ridiculously large lenses dart across the road in front of traffic to try and snap some pictures... it was like a flock of male tourists that almost looked like a scene from the paparazzi.
