Hi, I am Moving to Maui in September. My husband and I design and make jewelry for the family store in the Caribbean. we are looking for an opportunity by joining the events in Maui, or maybe selling on the street in Lahaina, we know the cost for a store is high, if possible. my questions are:

~ looking for good middle school close to Lahaina?
~ Is it possible to sell jewelry on the side of the street or side walk close to the beach?
~ Would anyone be interested in selling our unique jewelry?
~ What are the fees and etc. for the events and celebrations such as "4th Friday Kihei night"??

Thanks for you information

can't help with the schools. you can not just sell jewelery or anything else on the streets or the beaches.

you need resale lic and then are art fairs where you can get a booth and sell. the booths run around 100 bucks for the day. lahaina civic center usually has a craft show every sunday. the swap meet in kahului is another venue it runs on sat. and costs about 50 bucks. first fridays are about it for kihei except for whale day during whale season. there is a first friday in lahaina, makawao and in wailuku.

Everybody makes jewelry on Maui. You should try to transition your company to online sales

schools are not the "best" in the islands. if you can afford it private or home school is the way to go. otherwise you will have to send them to the public school by where you live. depending on your budget there are lots of places to rent in lahaina. try craig's list or VRBO a site of condo owners that rent out their place. good luck

There's a homeless couple in Makena that gives away jewelry on the side of the road while accepting donations in return.

Apparently they've been doing it for years while bypassing the license requirement.
