I just looked at The Maui News (online -- print version classifieds are different), Craigslist, and VRBO (Vacation Rentals by Owner), and there are lots of good options depending upon your location preferences and budget. Some are oceanfront and hotel-touristy, some are more like local/semi-local condos. If you're more specific about what you're looking for, you may get better (more) responses.

No matter what you inquire about, PHONE, don't email the owners and explain what you want. You will have drastic price drops from the pre-recession pricing that is on the internet. Half off asking price is not out of the question.
