I'm one of those guys. Small convertibles including the Miata are just not hetero enough for me. The S2000 is the only exception and it barely gets a pass, I'm just too big for the rest. When I see some spec racer Miata with an exhaust, a cage, a hardtop, a grease pen number fading out on the side - I know its a "man's" car and what its intent is - but if I have to basically ruin the DD potential of a car to make it seem tough it just sort of defeats the purpose. And this from a guy who's owned a few DSM's.

Here in Texas, I think more women drive Tahoes than men.
I would sooner drive a Miata than a full size SUV of any make.

Usually the stay-at-home-mom type. I've observed them struggling with them countless times in parking lots on my weekdays off, even though they turn on a dime. On weekends or rush hour, they'd be toast.
Anyway, what's wrong with the Mazda 5 micro-van? We're considering it, as we now have 2 small kids and mom wants something economical to putt around town with. Hard to find much information about it from actual owners, and I've never owned a Mazda.
Well all I can say honestly is drive the Miata....and (nothin' personal) but jeez...have some fun!
