Man, I wish I lived in MN to take that off your hands ... that'll be a great daily driver for me in CA.

What's wrong with this picture:

The Mazda guy offered me $4500 for my 1998 Honda CRV - 56,000 miles and now only $6700 for the 2002 Mazda Miata with 1200 miles.

When I brought up the disparity he said: This is Oct in MN and that's a Miata.

I am moving to NC and didn't want to have to transport the Miata but who knows.

OMG why would you consider selling, it's like brand new!

They are huuuugely collectible. I have customers with early 90's Miatas I still sell parts to.

You could rent a car hauler trailer and drive the CRV with the Miata behind it. You'll get tons more road time in it in NC.

And your CRV is barely broken in! Why are you selling, Umbria? Because of the move?

It is time to get a new car - a new grown up car The Honda is a 1998 and anything can start happening. I will be driving to NC, maybe a couple times, and need to feel the car is safe - I am vehemently opposed to sitting on the side of the road, especially if it's dark. Every time I pay auto ins. I realize how crazy it is to have 2 cars.

I'd trust that Honda over any new one, IMHO. Paid for, cheaper to insure, less crazy technology to break, easier to work on, no dealer only scenario. 56K miles? Still a new car.

A new grown up car? Dunno what you mean.

Although I do know what it feels like to buy that one car when you feel like you have 'arrived'.

Dad paid cash for his 745iL in 2007, after begging mom for years to replace her old Benz she finally gave in. They drove the Benz up here from FL and gave me the keys. 'Crush it, scrap it, part it out, just don't tell us.'

I put plates on it the same day and drive it in the summers to keep the miles off of my truck. It's a 1986 560SEL with 193K miles on it.

You cra cra Umbria?
That CRV will run forever and is perfectly safe -- 56kmi is nothing!
When my kid starts to drive in a couple of years, that's what I'm getting him.

With just 1200 miles on the Miata our op obviously isnt driving the car so it may as well get sold to some one who will drive it rather than it remaining just an expensive driveway ornament..
Note some of the prices a 2002 are going for up here in Quebec, A car like Umbrias could probably fetch $15K
