How can you understand exactly what warranty cover in plain English for a Mazda 6 under 36,000 miles. I just left the dealership and he said I need two tires because the tire is balding. Is this common at 30,800 miles and he mention nothing about the tires being under warranty.
Tires are not covered under the Mazda warranty anyway. They are covered by the manufacturer. But 30k mile is about what you can expect from the factory tires.
I had to replace the original tires on my 2006 Mazda3 as 24k miles. My 2012 CX-9 original tires lasted until 28k miles.
Unfortunately, the tires on new cars do not include a treadlife warranty for a specific number of miles. Be sure to choose replacement tires with a treadlife warranty (most are 60k miles but may be a little higher or lower). If they wear out in 30k miles and have a 60k warranty (and you've rotated them every 7500 miles or less) you would get credit for 50% of the purchase price toward new tires. Also, the warranty doesn't apply if the tires are wearing due to an alignment or suspension problem with the car.
Are the tears wearing evenly, not just on one edge (which would indicate that it needs an alignment)? What year is the Mazda6? Have you checked out replacements yet?
