I believe they already had a Mazdaspeed variant? Someone correct me if Im wrong... it was a turbo'd Miata with fugly little off-centered intercooler that looked like a bucktooth in the middle of an already too mouthy-looking air dam.

There hasn't been a MS Miata since 2004 or so with the old body style.

I have a 2002. Can't say the new one would make me want to trade up.

However, I would be interested in a GT version http://www.miata.net/news/images/MiataCoupe2.jpg similiar to the MGB GT or Triumph GT6 of yesteryear.
