"In point of fact, the real estate market is much like most of the rest of the climate on MDI: it only exists in the minds of people on MDI, and most of them are mistaken"

That's gotta hurt! I thought that I was the only one that was thinking this guy is a jerk. Haha...

My septic that I had put in down east, last year, was right beside a lake too. It has the presley(?) tube leachfield. It is gravity feed though. It came out real nice

That was one of the best posts I have ever seen. (the response to moving to maine now) Alot of the people that seem to want to move here appear to be brain-dead, or just wishing for free healthcare.

Saw Tony a few weeks ago. He says he will take about any offer for his property.

    Catch ya later.

Well, it all is centered around my wife's hair cut. Naturally, when that is something that is central to the plan, right as soon as you have it worked out....you guessed it: PLANS CHANGED.

Anyway, Michele's appointment is at ten, so if I can make it down it will be shortly after that. Don't set your watch on me though because things can change...you guessed it...without much warning.

If not tomorrow, then another day soon. I need to get to Brooklin again soon, and will. AND after all of this, I will be sure to stop in so you will know that I am not a phantom....I'll be the guy with the beard....

Come on down! I'm sure that you know where it is. I'll be all over the yard, so stop any body and ask where Bob Austin is, and you may get a nice answer. I'l be leaving right at 3:30 tomorrow.(I head downeast to the camp on friday nights) It may be crappy tomorrow, but I'll be more than happy to give you the two bit tour.

How's the world treating you? The snow is settling finally. The sun has some warmth to it again. Personally, I can't wait for the global warming to kick in again.

You can't. Unfortunately, without high speed Internet, Internet phone is not possible. Hence if the only high speed Internet is Fairpoint, then that is also the phone service. Here we have cable from RoadRunner/TimeWarner.
Thus I Vonage and now another service that is even cheaper, can hop onto the cable for free and provide telephone service. Time Warner also offers it but it is more expensive. My phone bill here is about $19 per month, and that includes 500 minutes anywhere in the US or Canada, along with a whole slew of other services, such as call waiting, call forwarding, answering machien service and so forth. Makes convention telephone really obsolete.
Our plan for Brooklin is to use Blue Sky for high speed Internet. That is a direct satellite link...either that or something like Diretpc, which is also a satellite uplink. For telephone we will use a cell phone service of some sort.

I don't know who she signed up with... I think Fairpoint, I don't know.

How can you bypass the phone company and use the internet phone if you use the phone company for the internet? By the way... Brooklin doesn't have cable. The selectmen would never sign over exclusive rights to the companies.
