    Hi there,

    Justin from Hyattsville CDC here.

Have you heard about the upcoming community paint day at the West Hyattsville Metro Station? Two muralists (Hyattsville natives! Cory Stowers and Henry Portillo) are painting with the community to create two new works of public art at the station. Saturday, May 13 2017 12p-5p.

Bursting on the Scene - Hyattsville Community Development Corporation

Note, May 13 is also the same day as Gateway Open Studio Tour :-)

If you didn't hear final count for the weekend was 100k. I agree mass transit would have to come if the stadium lands there but considering the speculation that it will come to the Harbor by 2022, I could see that happening. I am sure Peterson, MGM and Snyder would willing go into a public private partnership to run a line from Huntington to that area. Since the WWB was built with that in mind it wouldn't cost much. That would be what 7 miles.

So I was at MGM tonight (yep again lol) with a buddy of mine and we wound up talking to a couple of officers on duty. During the conversation they made some interesting points. Point 1: They heard from MGM that if they continue to have the volume of patrons that they have now, they would break even on their investment in 6 months. Point Two: Apparently the stadium rumor has another nuance. From there understanding the deal at oxon hill farm is contingent on a land swap. The current location would go to metro and a parcel of the farm would be rezoned for commercial development. Metro has some involvement but not sure to what extent.
