I noticed a lot of ignorance on that thread from non-libertarians. Some even went as far as to claim we want no laws. WTF? Why would they post on a topic they are completely ignorant on? Oh wait... That's the majority of CD posters in general.

What I find is when I am actually sitting there, guiding someone in how the Libertarian thought process and logic goes, they appear to agree. As soon as I back off and let them take the reigns again, their statist desires always take over.

But that's just MY opinion, fwiw.

Re: Convincing social conservatives to see the social libertarian perspective
    Great post, great questions

I have tried on numerous occasions, and even people who aren't die hard Christians seem to have difficulty with not being able to impose THEIR will, morality and dictates upon another if what they are doing doesn't encroach upon the rights or property of another. My observations have shown this isn't limited to conservatives though. I've seen it wide spread including liberals and of all people, some who call themselves Libertarians.

I believe the only crimes should be malum in se. There should be no malum prohibitum crimes as law anywhere. All malum in se crimes would be a crime regardless of whether or not there was a law because malum in se is when one person's action or inaction encroaches upon the rights or property of another. Malum prohibitum is prohibiting something simply because some "don't like" whatever that something is.
