Monaliza - I think he might be a golden and chow mix. He definitely has golden, but his ears are too short to be purebred, and his brow is too wide to be pure golden. The underside of his tongue is slightly black, which makes us think he's part chow (who have black tongues). He has the most gentle disposition of any dog I've met. Our vet thinks he's about two years old. He's not as rumbunctious as the yellow lab we once had. I definitely prefer goldens to labs since now I've had both. Max likes music and would sit next to my daughter as she practices on the keyboard. He's not a big TV fan, and he does not like the smell of cigarette smoke. He makes a really funny face when he's around smoke! he does not like insects buzzing around him...he hates that.

It's been spring a while back but I have not really felt it until today. The sun was out, on a Saturday nonetheless. Hubby and I had planned this Lowes trip early this week to pick up some Turf Builder, and came home with more. Last year was our first time to ever plant tomatoes and bell peppers, cilantro, thyme, basil and chamomile. We were blessed with a bumper crop of tomatoes so we decided to do it again this year. So instead of just Turf Builder, we came home with 3 tomato plants (Roma,...

I thought about it before I went to bed last night...how different this New Year's Eve was. DS complained that hubby did not get his bubbly apple cider for that ceremonial toast. Well, he's got something to complain about! Hubby didn't even buy us a bottle of champagne for THAT ceremonial toast. We kinda felt all blah this year, a carry over of the blah over the holidays. For the first time there was no bubbly, the first time I went to bed before the ball dropped and didn't care about watching the...

Well, two months into this camera, I came to the conclusion that with enough will power, I can...win the CD August Photography Contest! Maybe it does not mean anything to anyone really. Maybe I just got lucky! Or, I can tell myself that it really was a product of hard work, many hours of pouring over the manual, experimenting with editing, reading websites, asking questions and just trying, trying, trying. I like the hard work part. I like the repeated attempts at "perfection" that a craft...

I'm not sure if this is the right title to this. First of Many is the name we gave to the first stuffed animal my husband, then fiance, won in one of those arcade-type booths you drop a fortune in before grabbing a toy.

Today is the first day of school, once again. Except, for some reason, my husband felt a little differently dropping our 13-year old to high school on her first day. To him, dropping her off at high school had more of an emotional impact than her first day in kindergarten....

Now why would this topic be classified under City Data? Because this is about the Parenting forum. Posters who venture into this Forum are those who enjoy walking into the lions den. I'm willing to bet that the CD posters who eat each other alive in the Politics and Other Controversies thread would tremble in their undies as they type their responses in the threads over yonder.

The Parenting forum gets my vote as the most emotionally charged, sensitive, walking-on-eggshells forum of...
