Hey wanted to say Merry Christmas to you and your family. Hope you have a good one, and get everything you desire.

Not a chef, but I am a damn good cook, always creating old and trying new recipes.

Love to experiment, but I never mess anything up. What do you love to cook.

Stay safe and healthy, you and your family be blessed.

    Ciao

There's a great book called The Better Angels of our Nature by Steven Pinker who is a cognitive scientist/evolutionary psychologist. It's very interesting and he speaks about how violence has decreased in society and why our society has actually improved.

Hey, just wanted to pass on thanks for the SATA/USB drive suggestion. Aside from an issue with the provided power supply the transition went smooth.

I sometimes think about death in ways that are probably farily common for others. My Dad passed away in Jan about 4 months ago. We had his services and we all moved on. It's been a few months now and I find myself thinking about him sometimes. I had a rough and odd relationship with my dad, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. He was a hard man to be around. He wasn't a guy I'd hang out with, we were just too different. He was what I he was and I am who I am. Not a bad thing, but it just is what...

Well....

10 months in. Getting a little too used to not hitting the snooze button in the morning.

Every Monday I wake up and think to myself, "how the F am I supposed to go back to the grind"

The hardest part of being off of work this long is the realization that the pain of going back to work is going to worse than the two weeks we used to have to struggle with.

I've figured I'll just wait to the nastiness of the summer and the...

I've been in the market for a job for few months now, the fun phase of time off has been over for a few months now.

Looking to get back to work, mostly from a perspective of necessity, I could easily just retire right now, this need for work as they say when we get older is horseshyt. I think we can figure things out as we retire.

We keep hearing these horror stories of old folks charging through nursing homes with fists flying and pitchforks blazing as they...

I've been out of work for 6 months now. It's been an odd thing. I've never been unemployed my whole adult life. I feel like some kind of loser, some kind of homeless person, some kind of odd out of step vagrant, a vagrant with a checkbook, a vagrant homeless person with sensibilities of a working person, yet without work.

Work provides identity, provides a backstory to prove we have value.....

What do we do without our backstory??? Do we cease to exist. Is our backstory...

I just quit my job a week ago.

Just straight out quit it.

Nothing lined up, nothing prepared, no transition homework or anything.

I just couldn't take it anymore. I just couldn't take it anymore. I worked on a project by project basis. The last two projects I worked on kicked my balls into my upper chest.

I was informed that as the nightmare I was currently losing sleep over was somewhat winding down that I'd be placed back onto a project...
