I work in Australind, Monday-to-Friday. Weekends would be better, but if they aren't I could squeeze in a visit on a RDO (roster-day off) I know Leederville. Lots of good eats there. (San Churros, this burger place, a funky pizza place and an old desert shop with a name that vandals changed to something-**** ) Lucky Shag? Never heard of it. Love the waterfront on the Swan though. I've been to the Indian vegetarian restaurant there on the Swan.

I'm not going anywhere anytime soon. If nothing goes wrong, I think I'll be working here for at least another year. If I decide to leave my employer, I like Perth and WA enough there's a 50/50 chance I'd just move to perth instead of trying out Darwin or QLD.

For me, one of the biggest perks for southwest WA vs. Sydney, (similar latitude) is that if I want some real summer heat, say 30+ C at the beach, even if it's cool down here, it's pretty easy to drive to Geraldton or Kalbarri and I can have all the heat I want there.

    Hi Cold Canadian,
Can do how long are you in Perth for? Would you like to meet for lunch or dinner Tuesday or Wednesday ? Have some free hours both those days. Seina's Pizza Rest' here in Leederville (inner city) one train stop from Perth or Lucky Shag down on the water front by the Bell Tower could be two possible places. But if you have others fine by me.
You can send me another message here on what you would prefer.

mid-50's F all winter? No, we are never that mild. That's where our record daily highs are. Northern MN is even colder than here. So that's probably good practice for September or May. (lol) If it makes you feel better, Toronto could be on the way to recording the record least-snowiest winter. I'm loving it. Feels like I'm on vacation with needing to clear ice and snow. Cheers, -ColdCanadian-

Good morning C.C., I hope this message finds you well, happy, health, & staying warm(lol). Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, I tend to be kinda flaky sometimes! Please forgive me. Well, things here are good but COLD(at least for us). It's 43F right now and yest never got out of the mid-50s, which is pretty rare for these parts. I'm loving it though and wish it were like this all Winter instead of just a wk or two total, spaced out over months w/ 80 weather inbetween. I figure this is practice for when I move up North(looking @ Northern MN). I am so jealous of all the snow that almost all the states are seeing now, sigh. Oh well, someday soon. Well, have a great day & I will see ya on the forum! Take care, - lil red -

We were lucky enough to be able to watch it live at a bar in Sydney. Unbelievably tense but worth it. We sat next to a couple of Colts fans who left with about 1.30 to go. I yelled at them to stay but I guess they didnt hear me.
Still cant believe they won..cellphone reception is still jammed a bit over there. Oh well, we'll catch up with 'em in a few weeks.

I'm slowly getting stuff together which might work out to permanent relocation... I'm optimistic at this point.

Plus this winter's been real easy with something like 1/3rd of our regular snowfall so far.

Hey don't worry about it. I haven't been too active on the boards lately... been pretty busy.

    Happy New Year!

BTW, any closer to a relocation?
