To further your chances for long term success, start out with just 20 minutes for the first week. Then add 5 more minutes a week UNTIL you reach an hour. That way, by the time you are walking for an hour, it'll feel about the same to your body as the initial 20 minute walk felt. There's no need to push yourself. Have fun with it. If it's not fun, then you are taking the wrong approach. Find a way to make it FUN!

Thank you for your support and advice on the 1000 mile challenge. Now if I could find a flatter place to walk, lol. I suppose with my hills I could go for an hour hike and that would be good. I'll probably die at first lol.
