Poor people do not pay for healthcare, whether they have insurance or not.

Studies are now showing that people on Obamacare are still going to emergency rooms instead of regular medical clinics like people like us who actually pay market rates for insurance.

People who do not pay for healthcare are not being responsible and not going to emergency room for routine nonemergency care.

I support universal healthcare to cut out the insurance companies but believe those who do not pay for healthcare will continue to use emergency rooms unnecessarily for colds etc.

Re-read the thread. I'm not arguing with IrishIllini. I probably agree with him more than anything(!) It's the person looking at moving to suburban Nashville for a lower COL that I am probably less in agreement with. The intangibles like schools and overall availability of cultural activities of Chicago outweigh property tax differences. YMMV.

No point trying to argue with IrishIllini. They just bought in dec 15 in Chicago and are trying to justify purchase.

IL and GA are not representative of COL for Chicago and Atlanta.
