Picture Africa: The forgotten Continent
TIA - This is Africa SIA - Such is Africa
and
SADLY - The Forgotten Continent

I hope that some of these pictures will be able to play on your emotions; a smile, a tear, frustration, anger, empathy, hope, anxiety, fear, ignorance, impunity, indifference, and get away from the "the less we know the better" attitude.

Africa is dying.

People are dying as a result of genocidal maniacs that have been empowered through tribalism, through their previous "masters" lack of interest after having sucked their country dry of the riches that it once beheld.

African democracy works with keywords: Intimidation, genocide, violence, maiming, corruption, rape, child abuse, lack of respect for human rights and food only for those who vote for their party.

The Major negotiating instrument is an AK-47, available on the free market for the equivalent of U$13, or free to those who support "the cause"

Seven year olds are taught to maim and kill so that they can get their next meal or their next "fix". Child Soldiers are on the Increase and are being abducted and indoctrinated on a daily basis.

The Wildlife populations have been increasingly depleted, putting many species in danger of extinction.

I hope that one day your grandchildren will be able to see an Elephant/Lion/Leopard/Water Buffalo/and Rhino in real life in their natural surroundings - not in a zoo or from a photograph...........

I also hope that in the 21st Century, more awareness can be obtained on the realities of Africa, her people, and the plight of so many who have suffered under the "liberators" who claimed they [Quote] "could make Africa a better place for Africans -white and black alike, - through universal suffrage" [Unquote] From their example over the last 45 years, nothing has been more to the contrary.

And the opinion of the rest of the world just resonates with its deafening silence.

Zimbabwe, for example, has the lowest life expectancy (34)in the world (Red Cross Statistics)

It would take more than 40 years of constant and applied work in a number of African countries to remove anti-personnel landmines and hidden caches of arms that are all extremely volatile.

....and there's a whole lot more.....

Picture Salta: Argentina, Valley of the Calchaquies
This beautiful area is located in the North East of Argentina. Cafayate, the city located in the valley, is the department administration and has many world class vineyards, hotels, and incredible sites to visit. A must do for your "to-do" list if you are visiting this part of the world

Picture North East Argentina
Tucuman, Land of the D'Aguita people, whose menhirs (stone pillars) have been removed from their traditional burial grounds on the mound above El Mollar.
These religious objects, some dating from before 300 AC, have been unscrupulously vandalized and moved to a park in the center of the El Mollar village by politicians who have used this as a manner of attracting tourists to their town and thus provide additional income..
Unfortunately, the Caciques (Tribal Leaders) have been powerless to defend these objects, and many have been stolen, sold, and found their way into private homes, locally and abroad, as "collectors items"
