We have had great weather for almost a week now. It was warm enough for shorts and washing cars this past weekend. On Monday I took the boat out on the river for a short run.

I like to think of the Crystal Coast as a refuge from ice, snow, and cold temperatures. This year has challenged that theory. We saw one half inch of snow on Inauguration Day, and we have seen far colder weather than we have in the previous two winters.

The weather is absolutely stunning along the Southern Outer Banks right now. It has cooled off this week, but the ex-Canadian in me would have a hard time complaining about temperatures in the sixties in late October.
Last week we were in shorts. Yesterday when we went fishing, a stiff breeze from the north made our hooded sweat shirts feel pretty good.
Still this is a great time of year for fishing and enjoying the water. The best of the fishing still is to come...
