I am in NH. We are looking at FL to move to since 1/2 my family is going to migrate back down there soon. To me it goes beyond "common knowledge" when making financial decisions. If the math makes sense in a 4-8 year plan, then it makes sense... who cares about penalties and interest as long as it makes sense in the end. All I know if I have moved 3 times in the past 10 years and paid almost $ 300k in mortgage payments during that time....but I dont have that extra 300k in the bank. If I did this 10 years ago I would have a paid off house and my accounts would be back to where they are. Where is the problem?

I appreciate your intelligent response to my post. I am not up to part on retirement funding rules/laws/common sense. It just seems that everyone has it drilled into their head to never touch it, ever.

I see you are into real estate. If I may ask, what have you seen with situations like this?
