(The following is a continuation of the post below it)

I do tend to be a little better at understanding metaphors than most people...which carries the disadvantage of a greater likelihood of falsely assuming others will understand them too...so even if you did not know I had been speaking metaphorically when I'd insisted that a brick with a bow on it is not the same brick...there is a chance that it's myself who is the more unusual thinker...and your thought process that is closer to usual.

I'm just curious about something...and I don't mean to be bothersome or embarrass you.

When I asked you to explain why a brick with a bow on it is not the same brick, did you know that I already knew that it is still the same brick?

    Here is the thread:

Most people would know I was speaking metaphorically...when I said that a brick with a bow on it is not the same brick...I'd suspect.

Don't respond unless you feel like it.

Metaphors are a tool used to portray deeper meaning using less energy and time than otherwise possible...so long as they do not get translated too inaccurately.

This is DA (formerly Scott Summers) and you did make a valid point about the "Ace" issue. Too many people like to throw around the "Ace" moniker and that sets off my b.s. meter (yours is going off right now, I'm sure). I mean, Tommy Hanson was deemed ATL's "Ace" at the start of the season and then it shifted to Tim Hudson. I use that word in jest sometimes but I really don't feel that there are many "Aces" in the game today. It's really sort of a combination of things with me...mainly it's a pitcher's ability to show dominant adroitness. Gotta have more than 1 or 2 go to pitches in my opinion.
