I was looking at Belleville becuase it is close to the airport (perfect for my job that has me travel a lot) and between Detroit and Ann Arbor. Now that getting a good mortgage rate is an issue for the size of townhouse I want, I am looking at Detroit in the Brush Park and CorkTown area. Any thoughts on those two places for a single female? My goal is to move by February, but if I can't qualify for a loan it will be a year :-(
I like in Cincinnati right now but I was born and raised in Chicago.

Hi. I just read your story about your childhood in Michigan. I also grew up in Battle Creek and left when I was 18 (I'm now 50) and have lived in Tampa since I moved. Now my husband, who is also from there, and I are thinking about returning. I miss the seasons in the worse way, but I am also craving my family. I have siblings that live there as well as my mother part of the year (she is here the other half) and my husbands mother. Tampa has gotten crazy busy and I don't think I can go through another hot and humid summer. Our second daughter is about to graduate high school so we know this might be the time to make the move. Everytime I go back I feel like I'm really "home". It was a great place to grow up and I have wonderful memories. It's not about trying to relive the past, but I think my husband and I know really appreciate what is truely important. We are just ready for a slower pace of life and it sounds like you feel the same way. Good luck!
