    thanks, dano. sometimes you are too close to appreciate what is really positive about the place you live. i have travelled lots, and lived in a number of different countries, and there are only a few places i would consider living for any length of time, and raising a family - the US is one of those places. it is exactly tribute to the positivity of living in the US that this is where i currently choose to make my home! and yes, i say this even living in new jersey! i can only imagine how it must be even better in other locations round the US.

    dont get me wrong, i also love the UK (with all its faults) - but the contrasts between there and here go far beyond accents and socialized medicine, as many seem to think.

    I've just one of your posts and rep'd you. Your take on the US is refreshing and IMO accurate- though NJ isn't high on my list of friendly places!
    I visit England at least once a year and find most of your observations to be right on.
