While my regular boat was in t he shipyard, I had to get my days in on another one on the Ohio River during Jan. 2009! The WINTER and I am from the deep south where we never get this kind of cold weather! However, I really enjoyed the trip and all the sights there were to see and to photograph.

I have an unusual job.. well, the job itself isn't unusual, just where I do my job. I am a cook on a tow boat on the Mississippi River. I am not a "chef" but just a old fashioned cook that cooks for a crew of about 8 men, 3 meals a day for 28 days. We work a 28 on, 28 day off schedule. I have done this for about 15 years now and I love it. We normally work only on the Lower Mississippi from sometimes below New Orleans to St. Louis but usually we only go from Baton Rouge to Columbus, Ky. This ablum will be pictures of the boat I work on and some scenes alnog the way.. Enjoy
