The movie College Road Trip came out just as my daughter was making her first college visits during April vacation last spring. She and her Dad did the "southern loop", stopping at Towson University in Baltimore, MD, Christopher Newport in Newport News, VA, Coastal Carolina, College of Charleston and up to Elon in North Carolina. It was quite a week. This was the first time that our daughter did any significant driving on a highway and they had their "moments".

Growing up in Northern Vermont, we always had a huge garden and my Mom canned and froze everything. I don't remember having an Oreo cookie at home, but did feast on homemade applesauce ginger cookies, fresh strawberry shortcake, homemade oatmeal bread (my personal fave) and many other items harvested from our garden.

These days, I've given up on gardening, but really missed the gardening experience. Last year, we joined Mountainview Farms, a local C.I.S.A. farm as a way to get reconnected...
