I want to thank you soooo much for your post about places/neighborhoods of New Bedford, North Dartmouth areas. I am also moving to New Bedford. I have asked questions on this forum before, but never really have gotten an answer. I think you would be able to help me.

I live in Phoenix, Arizona and there are some parts of Phoenix where black people are not welcome at all. I stay away from those areas. Since I know nothing about New Bedford, would you be able to tell me if such neighborhoods exist? I simply just want to stay clear of those areas and not move there by mistake (if they do in fact exist). So my question is: I am a black female and will be moving to New Bedford this fall. Which neighborhoods should I stand clear of as far as racial intolerance/prejudice. I found an apartment on Craig's list at 819 Belleville Ave, New Bedford, MA 02745. You mentioned that Belleville Ave is not very safe. But is this area safe. Belleville seems to stretch way up north.

I want to thank you for all your help and great suggestions when we went to NYC last May. We are heading there again on May 27 this year.. Going to get to a few of the things we wanted to do but didn't have time for. This time we are staying on East 62nd Street but as we feel comfortable with the bus service we can head anywhere - also don't mind walking if it isn't rainy. A show will be amust do and we plan to get our tickets at TKTS as we did last year. "Phantom" was outstanding but we will pick a different show this time. Flying out of Bangor will be nice, no drive to Portland, and it will be nonstop.

I am interested in moving to Portland, ME and would be interested in hearing your experience, particularly how it is similar and different (if applicable) to Portland, OR, as well as Burlington, VT? Thank you.

Aw, thank you Well, good, I think you're a good person to speak with. I am wondering before we continue, and only because I think it's easier, do you have yahoo messenger? I would love to talk with you on there about these different towns/cities. I am really looking to speak with someone who is familiar, which it sounds you are and who is intuitive, which it sounds you are lol... so I'm wondering if maybe you can help me figure out which city may be best for me, or at least provide me w/some guidance.
