Hi there!

We are looking at the WIlliamsburg area or Raleigh, NC for a move in a few years after I finish grad school. I will be a speech-language pathologist and husband works from home. Our daughter will be 7-8 by then. We visited Williamsburg as tourists, so we didn't see much of Williamsburg and what it has to offer residents. Our concerns are proximity to shopping, dining, medical care, etc. We will probably rent the first year and we have two small dogs. Just some info about us to go on. We will come down in the next year or so to visit as possible residents to tour the area and would like to know where to focus our time as far as certain areas of Williamsburg that will fit what we are looking for. Possibly taking a new postion with my company in VA. Can live any place in Richmond or Southeast part of state. 2 kids (4 &6). House price between 400K-500K. Like everybody else, we'd like to do public schools if possible , and live in a family friendly, low crime, higher end development. I appreciate your opinions as I have read many of your posts. I'm looking at Fords Colony, Stonehouse in Toano, and maybe Governors Island at Two Rivers. However we are wide open to anything at this point. Coming from Wisconsin where we have very good public schools and very little poverty or kids that receive free lunch, I am concerned with this aspect most of all. Please advise.
