    HI Mrs. 1885,

    Saw your posting about property in Eastport and lack of availability. There are still some properties available. In fact, I believe I sent you an e-mail on my property. Also, I have friends who have property for sale -- who bought multiple properties for rental and now decided to sell. What are you looking for and maybe we can help?

    Thanks!! She's a true gem. No clue why she was never claimed or why she was turned in. I never even asked her story!!!

    Great post! I love sulcatas but unlike others, I do my research. We have had a rescued yellow foot for years. I wouldn't recommend torts to many people. They require more than most are willing to do. I hope there will always be a place for exotics in our lives.

    Thanks LFM. Candy was an amazing dog; truly one in a million. She had a great life and was very loved. She'll always be with us in spirit. I did a memorial for her on the website too. I just hope Diva, our female pit, can grow to take her place in the pack. Of all the dogs we have, I think she's the best chance we have. And until then, boy do I have my hands full!

    Dear Mrs 1885;
    I just learned from Zugor about your loss. I am so sorry to know you had to go through such a difficult time. Knowing how much good you do, it just doesn't seem fair. As you grieve your loss, know that we "out here" are with you in spirit, and in love. Your great memories will survive the pain, and give you even greater compassion.

    God Bless,
    Lookin'

    Thank you, for being my friend, and for being the friend of those less fortunate. Together, may we make the world safe for all that suffer.

    They'll be for adoption through my rescue. All pictures of them once they're about 4 or 5 weeks old and information will be on the website. My e-mail is there as well in case anyone wants to request an application for adoption. Welcome to Hilltop Animal Rescue Team

I'm forever getting e-mails from people that can't keep their dog for various reasons, asking if I can take it. I ask the problem, and many times it's things they can work through. I offer them suggestions and help and never hear back from them. It's like they view me as the local dumping grounds for when the cute little puppy they brought home isn't cute anymore. It's frustrating and beyond sad.

I saw an ad on line recently for someone near me that has spent the last several...

Our second ever avian adoption is a success. We spent a good hour with the adopters. Wonderful people. They have 2 birds already and one is special needs. Always like to see that!!

Mocha, our GSD / cattle dog mix is at her adoptive home for another play date. She did better walking on a leash this time and seemed slightly more relaxed; hope she's lossening up at their home. Adopting out dogs that are so conservative is so hard.

Have the tortoises up for adoption...

This blog is dedicated to animal welfare and trying desperately to find some sense of human's 'disposable' attitude towards animals. I'll weave back and forth between our rescue and some of the fosters we have or have had, success stories in placement and the 'failures' we've had, and lastly my grand attempts at getting a shelter established for my county.
