Day 2 Woah! I am exhausted! Met alot of really nice people. One thing I did learn is dont give up on being called. Talked to people there who were waiting for their interview. Some had done Day2 in October! Our leader yesterday said that after interview it could be a couple of months until they hire for "the job" they decide they want you for. Tell him not to give up. Just get ready

I waited so late to apply that now I'm not sure if they will call me since they have so many applications now. Teaching was not my first career. I have 10 1/2 years in the system but I'll be turning 40 in March, so it's been a while since I've done upper level math. Thanks for the info. Let me know how your Day 2 goes. My husband is getting worried about them calling him since his interview was on Dec. 9th. I told him not to worry since they haven't sent him a letter telling him that he's been cut from the process. He has been self-employeed for 3 years so he thinks that might hurt his chances.

Well thats nice to hear about the contract side of it. Like i said who the heck can I ask since noone knows I have applied Ok the computer assessment was simple for me except for the math. Ugh I hate math. There is a calculator to use and my problem was I havent done fractions, percentages ect in years! So general knowledge in basic math is all you need. Im betting you're younger than me and its literally been years since Ive done this stuff! The other parts were easy. Common sense to weed out the idiots. LOL
And about what you said about waiting it out... I applied in August, got notification about computer assessment in October. I literally picked the last date posted which was Nov 10. Got notice to schedule Day2 on Dec 14. Literally picked the last date that was posted which at that time was Jan15th. LOL Im trying to get as close to the end of the year as possible without blowing it. Best possible scenerio would be after Spring Break but who knows.

You can resign at anytime from your position with your school district. The only problem with resigning is that if you don't fulfill your contract it will look bad on you if you ever decide to go back to teaching. The only thing the school district can do to you if you quit before the end of the year is pull your license for a year. If you are working for Toyota then you won't need your license anyway. I'm teach 2nd grade in Lee County. I wanted to wait a little while to put in my application so I hopefully would have time to finish the school year before I got an offer. How was the computer assessment? My understanding is that it is an aptitude test. Is there anything I need to study up on? My husband didn't give me much info on the computer assessment. He just said, "there's a little bit of everything on it."

Female I teach 7th and 8th grade. If you are currently teaching in a public school, have you thought about how you are going to get out of your teaching contract if you are hired by Toyota and the school year isnt up?
Thats of some concern to me and I really cant ask anyone

MS Teacher, I just completed the application on Jan 5th. My husband completed his interview on Dec. 9th. I hope they call him soon! My husband said that the Day 2 isn't really bad. You need to be prepared for an upper body workout doing the spot welding and lower body doing the weight moving. Your knees will get bruised because you don't have a pad to use while working in the car. The group activity is common sense stuff. He also says to pack only a light lunch because you don't want to eat too much and then do all that work. He would usually eat 2 sandwiches so he only ate one. I would usually eat one, so I would only eat half PP& J and maybe a few carrot sticks. Just curious because it doesn't say on your profile, are you male or female? I teach Elem Ed, what do you teach?
