question for you:

are you of the idea that God knowing that we would choose evil at times means that we don't have free will?

my point in that thread was that God knew what we would do, but gave us the freedom to choose it anyway. He warned us, however, that there would be consequences.

either way, i do believe that God is there, and that He has definite designs as far as we are concerned, but we often would rather focus on our own designs, and ignore His.

i believe that this is the case in the mideast as much as it is anywhere else.
