And the pushcart is named 'Brio', of all things! Too wonderful! With that tail twitching, I wonder what Maru is thinking.

It's a wonderful motto, no? And how ARE your Parrot's Triglycerides? Oh, by the way, I found a great thread on Gwendolyn Chapman on Free Republic. Would have linked to it, but it may be considered a "competing site", by City-Data. They've got some amusing graphics, including Chapman in camo - and some wicked comments.

Oh, there's some series of canals or such that link Long Beach with Downtown. It may actually be the "Los Angeles River". Compton is on one side of it, if that says anything. I can't go to Google Map, anymore, since that's been RUINED. Otherwise, I'd tell you.

I'm sure you've been avoiding that area since you were old enough to drive, and so have never seen the waterway or canal or whatever it is.

When the people beat their WHAT on the Mississippi Mud? Oh, that was GLORIOUS! And I loved that riverboat (although I wonder how many other viewers understood what that was supposed to be). I assume you noticed that they inserted "people" where another, less nice, word used to be. Thanks for sharing that astonishing Lawrence Welk moment!

Oh, and thanks for the praise regarding that advice thread.

I KNEW they were grossly over-counting the rooms! Thanks for verifying.

Oh, and remember: the key to turning any ordinary towel into a chic chapeau is in choosing the right brooch for your forehead.

Yes, and Edie is just pouring the food on the floor. Yep. That took the cake. No wonder they had raccoon problems. The attic ceiling is plastered. Do you think this third level is where the maids stayed? I've looked at the before and after renovation videos, and if you count the third level, and any basement rooms, then MAYBE there are 28 rooms.

Apparently, if you grow up with servants, you don't know how to do ANYTHING (like find a bowl to pour the raccoon food into, or find trays, or get all the junk off the bed... or budget & prioritize)

I wonder if they had to sell the furniture and silver and china, long before the Seventies. The house (apart from the mountains of catfood cans) looked strangely empty.
