    Hey slamont61,
Howdy Cuz! Thank you for the message & I'm so sorry for not getting back to you right away (the Holidays are now upon us). I'm also related to Daniel Boone through my (maternal) grandmother's side. I'm not sure how - I'll have to get in touch with my aunt; she's really into tracing our ancestry. She has our family traced back to the Mayflower.
That same grandmother was called Granny GoodWitch by my uncles. I'm not a practicing witch (although there are some people I'd like to turn into toads, lol). My sister nicknamed me Witch b/c she couldn't use the "B-word" in front of our parents. It stuck ;-)

I don't get it. Twitter? What is all the rage of it? To me it looks like Texting on Steroids. Makes no sense to me - just one more wedge in our Social Skill Set. You know I'm just now getting used to there being My Space and Facebook - and saddly I have begun to interfacec with Facebook - a bit. I'll draw the line at Twitter - no thanks.

Are our schools now trying to circumvent this new form of Social Interaction? Are the kids being given enough social skills to exist out in the world?...

Ah yes, we've seen the snow melting (well most of it) and seen the small rivers rise and crest, flooding several areas as ice jams build up near bridges. All part of Momma Nature's plans I guess.

It's so nice to be able to say I once again survived the Minnesota Winter. Egad! I did? Minus 40 below zero and who knows what wind chill factor? Oh yes, that and more. We're a tough breed up here in Northern Minnesota. I've only been through two of these but most folks have done...

Our first winter storm has come and gone - yet it isn't even winter yet. On Sunday we had Blizzard Conditions all day long as we picked up about 12 inches of snow. The tempertures plummeted from a low high of minus 8 degrees through to -27 this morning. You don't want to know the wind chill factor. Factor it in and we feel like almost -50 degrees. Yikes is THAT ever cold.

Even my dog, a Miniature American Eskimo seemed perplexed when she stepped outside. I've had to shovel...

Life for me has never been more enjoyable than it is these days. I packed up the Family and move us from Wisconsin, a year and a half ago and moved to Norther Minnesota, specifically Sebeka MN. A small town with a Population of 600 plus where like the bar in "Cheers" everyone knows your name.

Hey, it's not sappy, it's real. We're a tough breed of people. It gets cold here in winter, for a month straight we'll have tempuratures below zero, well below zero.
