Thanks for the information you gave me in the politics thread I started on the Tucson forum. I had a feeling that Phoenix was even more right leaning than I thought, and although I like Tucson, I don't think I could live there-too hot for a person from MN that doesn't like super hot weather. My instincts are telling me that Denver is the city that is right for me. Less extreme weather in the winter, too. I have a paralegal degree, so I think I'll start doing some research. Thanks again!

Hey Spot! Thanks for the request and welcome! You've been here for about 5 months, huh? Fairly new, but not too new. Like what you've done with your real estate choices. Good to hear a "Happy" story once in a while. Your note to wanto may have been read by wantto, but you may have to click on her name and put it in her public message box. Know what I mean?

Hi! Not yet, we will be moving there in June. My wife is trying to find a job in Denver right now, so we will be coming out in March for a few days to look around and maybe let her do some interviews. Her degrees are in MIS and Accounting, so she shouldn't be unemployed for too long we hope.

Yeah, the ABA article listed a number of big law firms that are laying off people. This economy is really rough for those bigger shops right now. Their overhead is killing them. The firm I work for is doing well though. We are actually hiring. I will be starting my own firm with a partner in Denver though. I don't want to work for someone else anymore.

Are you back at a law firm now? I remember you mentioned that you were working in another field a few months ago.

Hi Spot! Are you in Denver yet? Or did you decide otherwise? Strange to see some law firms laying off.

H.R. 3200 just cleared Committee yesterday in the House. This important legislation includes several protections for consumers, but there are still several changes that are necessary if we really want to hold down costs. As this will be going to the full House floor for a vote by Sept 1, 2009, I suggest that anyone interested in the future of healthcare take a few moments to familiarize yourselves with the bill and call your representative and offer feedback.
