I noticed some o your posts on Dorchester. My family and I are moving to the area (bf is attending new england school of law). We've been house hunting for abuot two months and have finally found a home that seems to have everything we needed and then some. However, it's in Dorchester, and so many people seem to warn against that town! The house is located on Sawyer Avenue. Judging from picures (haven't visited yet), the area looks wonderful, but I'm warned agaist that assumption as well. I did find one crime map, and Sawyer Ave seems to be a decent distance from all crimes that had occured as of 2007, and fairly close to Savin Hill and the Ashmont and Adams area many people have referred to as the better parts of town. I was hoping to get your opinion on the Sawyer Ave area though? Thanks!
