It's the brand favored by chefs like Wolfgang Puck - it's pretty amazing. Callebaut is a Belgian chocolate that's also 'that' good

Lisa - I appreciate your response. When I tried to send that response to you the system would only allow so many characters so I had to keep editing it - I reread it and it sounded all about my situation. When I first read your message about Niki I knew how you were feeling and that I would also be going through the same thing soon. You have honored her very well and you're right, she had a very full life. Everyone on CD felt they knew Niki.

I just read Mike & Lisa's World - the piece about Niki. OMG - I bawled through the whole thing. Friday night after I posted I went to check on Sami. He hasn't been doing well for some time now - incontinent for over a month. When I checked on him he had tried to move off his bed but died half way. . He was also 14 and miserable - had a hard time walking but ate like a horse which I always watch. Then Friday he stopped eating - nothing I did would get him to eat so I knew this was it.
Now I have a 13 year old little girl that is also going downhill and it seems like it's worse now that Sami is gone. I fear it won't be long and she will be next. I've always had a special feeling for her and this is going to kill me. So, until then I will spoil her rotten.

Niki led a charmed life for sure. Her burial spot was the best.. Sami will join all the other critters of my life in the urn. When I go someone will sprinkle us all in the ocean.

OK....now the coming home story

On Tuesday Mike and I backtracked to New Port Richey FL for our dentist appointments. After two hours we finally headed north and out of Florida. We drove until about 9pm and made it to a campground in SC. It was dark and we never even saw the campground. We hooked up the electric for heat and left the next morning at 5:30. On the road again. We gradually watched the temps dropping and when we hit the mountains we saw a lot of snow. Not...

It's a sad day on the farm. The cow people came and took the calves out. So far it hasn't been too bad except for one mother who keeps calling for her baby. Supposedly there is a "right" time to take the calves out according to the Farmer's Almanac...and today is one of the days. I hope they are right.

So that started me thinking of all the cow stories and all the ups and downs of living near cows
