They aren’t being unveiled yet, but new plans are in the works for redeveloping Overton Square. And unlike the failed proposal last winter of Oklahoma-based Sooner Development, these plans are apparently making both preservationists and urban planners happy.

Nice! Looking forward to hearing more; if done well it's sure to return to being a destination for the Midtown area residents!

Loeb Properties to outline plans for Overton Square in Memphis
The Commercial Appeal

Loeb Properties will hold a public meeting March 1 to unveil its redevelopment plans for Overton Square.

“This is an exciting time for Overton Square, the iconic and nostalgically remembered retail district that we hope is on the brink of rebirth and renewal,” Loeb said in a press statement this week.

Banners are out on the south side buildings on madison saying "We're coming back!" Paulettes was still serving yesterday - not closed. I look forward to the plans unveiling tomorrow!

Wonder what they are going to do with that big hotel on the corner? Seems like a great location with no competetion for miles. Right now it looks terrible

There would have to be a positive feasibility study for the lender and for any franchise brand showing that the demand is still there at that location, then the investors would have to put a sizeable chunk into a property which was bled down with little real upkeep for the last several years by the out of town management company. It was really a popular weekend and dinner venue in its heyday, and was a top choice for FedEx visitors and training.
