Default Winchester Farmer's Market and canned octopus

I KNOW someone on this thread asked about canned octopus a while ago, and I thought they were crazy. I saw it today at the Winchester Farmer's Market!

If anyone else never ventured there, it's well worth the trip! It's actually a grocery store, not an open market...at Kirby and Winchester. Great produce, some of the best I've seen around here. Fresh herbs and spices, all the standard apples bananas etc..., and some unique fruits and veggies I've never seen anywhere before. Extensive asian, indian, mexican and south american specialty foods, and the fish looked really good, there were even some swimming in tanks! I'm not a fish eater, but I would guess that's a good thing.

I haven't been there but my dad was talking about this place the other day. He said it was a very unique store. I'll have to check it out.

It's called that, but it's not an open air, local veggie type place. It's unique.

Sounds pretty much like the place in Cordova where Shnuck's used to be...

it is just an Asian grocery store although it is called farmers market. Yes, the one in Cordova is newly opened by them.

re-read the original post....it's actually a grocery store, it's open year round, normal hours that a grocery store would have. They same company recently opened on in Cordova, I haven't been, but I've heard its even bigger and nicer. Hope to get there soon.

And fatbench, it's really not "just an asian grocery store". There are many ethnicities represented, including Indian, Italian, South American and more. They make fresh corn tortillas all day long, get them while they're hot!

My wife and I love the Winchester Farmer's Market. She finds many of the fruits and other foods she grew up eating in Belize. I love the Hispanic food section.

When my wife's mother was living with us we would get Habanero peppers and cut them up and jar them for her... Corn tortillas and habanero pepper with nearly every meal.
