The MED is such a huge asset for Memphis, I'm glad it is back on its feet. I've been in there several times (not as a patient, thankfully) and have friends that work there. They are miracle workers.

I just hope it breaks the cycle and keeps doing well.

I don't know if it is true or not, but according to a colleague The Med has always had a financial crisis each year that they manage to squeak out of at the last minute. This year it was the most concerning.

Will Pierce, assistant systems adminstrator for the MED, hooks up computers inside the MED’s new Trauma Training and On-Call Facility.


The Regional Medical Center at Memphis recently opened its new Trauma Training and On-Call Center, which will provide quiet sleeping quarters, bathrooms and showers, a lounge and other amenities for the medical staff.

New Members Appointed to MED Board

"Three new board members were recently appointed to the board of the Shelby County Health Care Corp. by Mayor Mark Luttrell.
The Shelby County Commission approved the appointments of attorney Pamela McFarland Brown, the Rev. Keith Norman and former City Council member John C. Vergos to the 12-member board that governs the Regional Medical Center at Memphis."
