Default new structure on the Highland strip

Does anyone know anything about the new building going on the Highland strip? I was told that it is supposed to be a 7 story building with a few levels of parking, a few levels of shopping/nightlife, and a top few levels of apartments or condos.

There are two different projects slated for Highland around the U of M.

The first is a project where the Highland Street Church of Christ sits currently. It's being developed by Poag-McEwen, and it is a lifestyle shopping center with 2-3 stories of apartments on top. (As of my last discussion with the developers, about 2 months ago, they were unsure whether they would rent or sell the apartment units.) There will also be townhomes at the back.

The second is the Trammel-Crow development at the Midland/Highland intersection. That was originally intended to be a 10-12 story building, but the neighbors thought it wouldn't look right in that neighborhood (and they were right). The new plan is for a four-story building on top of a two-story garage. There will be some retail on the first floor of the building. This development is targeting the student population and will consist of rental units. It's under construction now and will (allegedly) be completed next spring.

Oh, and one more -- At the corner of Central and Highland, where the Lutheran church used to be, a 60-unit condo complex is planned. I can't remember who the developer is, though.
