We're going to the game Saturday and need to know where exactly to park. I figure there are garages DT (we've been DT Memphis 2x's so we really don't know), but I didn't know if the stadium has its own garage/lot? The Nashville Sounds has their own lot, so that is why I'm asking!
Also, generally speaking, how much should we expect to pay to park? |

If you park in a lot with a paybox and an attendant, put your money in the paybox. There was a story on the news a few nights ago about bums pretending to be parking lot attendants and taking people's money, only for the people to come out of the stadium and find a 'boot' on their car, placed there by the real parking lot management.

I wouldn't say parking is limited downtown. I think I read once there are over 10,000 spaces downtown to park in, garages and lots.
The closest and easiest ones for you to use I'd say, is Parking Can Be Fun on Union, between Main and 2nd. It's on the south side. I'm sure for game days, they'll have a set fee. Also, one of the Peabody garages, on Peabody and 3rd. You enter on Peabody, it's where the Hooters and South Philly are located (behind Pat O's on Beale). There is also a garage behind the stadium, but it's hard to get in and out of, and it closes pretty early at night, in case you were planning on staying out later. It's located on Madison/3rd, enter on Madison (right at the light, thus traffic backs up considerably there). I would go with one of those 1st two...they are big garages, I've never had a problem in either. With the lots, during events, I worry like someone said, that the "attendent" is just stealing my money and will have my car towed. |

Check out this map:
there are no names, which is ridiculous! But, you can see "Autozone Park" is the Redbirds stadium. Parking Can Be Fun should be # 510 and the Peabody Garage above Hooters is # 1600. (maybe that's the # of spaces they fit?) If you want to park for free on the street and don't mind a few block walk, go behind the stadium on Madison and Court. There is free parking on Court (you don't feed meters on the weekends) and you will see tons of people parking along Court, and in front of the Downtown Elementary, for the games. |

Oh, and here you go, plenty of parking downtown:
Did you know that there are over 46,000 parking spaces in the Central Business Improvement District?! So wherever your destination is in Downtown Memphis, parking is conveniently located nearby. |

Memphis has an abundance of parking compared to most cities.

Parking Can Be Fun is where I always park b/c it's convenient and only $3! Just be sure that you are entering the lot coming from Front St. as traffic often gets backed up heading East on Union, making it difficult to find someone who will let you pull in front of them to get in if you are heading West. Also, just to clarify, the lot is between Front St. and Main St.

Good call....go down Union from the west if you can, that way you turn right into the garage, not left across traffic.
There are so many restaurants and shops now, right around the Union/2nd Ave intersection, so that's a nice place to park and see some sites. Plus, the garage has art, plays music inside, etc. Kitchy. |
