How does the Kirby Station apartments rate? Are they considered in the Midtown area? If not are they within a walking distance. Thanks

These are no where near midtown. Kirby and Poplar is about 10 miles away, according to Google.

An estimate of 'midtown' should be maybe McLean and Poplar/Union/North Parkway. And maybe a mile radius around that area.

Please note too; Memphis is not a walking city. Downtown is walkable. Some areas of midtown are walkable (right around Cooper-Young, right around Overton). But otherwise, we drive everywhere. A) it's too dang hot. B) there are just too many bad areas of town and shady people to walk long distances.

I wish it was different...I don't mind walking a little ways to go out somewhere, done it a million times in other cities. But here...no way. I wouldn't feel safe, even in the safe areas of town. downtown is different because there are so many people out at night, tourists, kids drinking, etc.

Edit: and I am talking about in the city, not the suburbs. Of course I'd feel safe walking through germantown, but it sounds like you may be thinking more like walking to the bars or restaurants. ?? I live in midtown, and although I live about 1/2 mile from a ton of bars/restaurants, I don't feel too safe walking to some of them because you have to cross through a shady block or 2 to get there. At night, no thanks.

Sorry, I saw it was near 240 and did not realize it was a loop.

240/40 loops around town (40 on the north, 240 on west/south,/east). For midtown, you have to be in zips 38104 or 38112 (basically).

We checked into moving there and really liked it. It is on our "list" when/if we decide to rent an apartment!

It is on the Germantown border, if my memory serves correct.
